Headlights are one of your car’s most important safety features.  It is important to ensure that your headlights are correctly aligned, both for your own safety and the safety of other road users.

If set too high, headlights will dazzle oncoming drivers and if set too low, they will be ineffectual.

In 2003 it was reported in the Irish Independent that:

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan has admitted that the fail rates “will increase from 54pc to 70/75pc with full implementation of the NCT from September 15 – largely on account of headlight alignment results.”

Today there is still a high NCT fail rate on Headlight Alignment.
